Hello Friends,
I have noticed a lot of new members do not know how to code the links properly. This is extremely dangerous for I-J and the great community we have here. Even though it has been explained by the mods in the FORUM RULES section, some links still show as live even in the [code] tags with **,w3 and hxxp. This is because even though the link text has been encrypted, the link destination still stays the same!
The purpose of this thread is to educate new members on how to code their links correctly to avoid any potential trackback issues. I request the Mods to make this a STICKY so that all new members can refer to it directly [img]images/smilies/smile.gif[/img]
The correct way to code the links is to Paste the link, then Select the entire link and then Click the
button at the top of the post text area box. Now you can easily code it in any way, either by using the code # button or typing the [code] tags around the link by hand. This is the safest way!! [img]images/smilies/smile.gif[/img]
Example:
HTML Code:
Code:
hxxp://www.sitename.com
[If you use the Quick Reply button to make your posts, please paste your link in a notepad file or just the Google search box in your browser or even the address bar- then copy the link from there and paste it in your post. It will make it a default link text -with no hyperlink] -Don't forget the [code] tags [img]images/smilies/wink.gif[/img]
Always make sure you check your post for LIVE LINKS after posting.
To be absolutely sure there are no LIVE LINKS, edit your post, click the Go Advanced button, scroll to the bottom of the post text area box and de-select the Automatically parse links in text checkbox under the Miscellaneous Options. You can do this while creating a new thread/post too.
You also do not need to put ***, w3 in the link if you follow the steps above.
